If you do not include the Sherlock Holmes crossover. Also agree that from what you and others have written the Jim Hutton adaptation was much better. That series was very good. You probably know which one. And knowing the clue for FACE is not necessary. Like Calamity Town one would think the Ellery of the early books would not have needed months to figure this out. Actually even allowing for this Ellery to be a younger brother he should have figured it given the harder crimes he had solved and the ones he had failed. The portrayal of Wrightville and its inhabitants and an involved Ellery certainly feel fresh for the series, but it's utterly amazing that the Ellery who solved all those earlier mysteries is having trouble for months with this mystery. The 'misunderstanding' that makes up for the core of the mystery in particular is something Ellery should've seen through immediately.Ho-Linghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04673330638260132388noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8031063966272508587.post-12463247517587000022015-12-03T04:43:15.216+01:002015-12-03T04:43:15.216+01:00To some degree I understand how you feel. The one downside to it is that it reminds me what you said in your earlier review of Cat of Many Tails.
