The way it was set-up though, I did really have the feeling it could have been more "classic mystery-esque", without losing focus on the theme (especially as most other mystery stories that feature SNS/mass media and stuff either only do 'look what random people on the internet say and then move on with the plot' or focus solely on reception, whereas this film mixes the two together (only in a way I think could've ended up even better).Ho-Linghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04673330638260132388noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8031063966272508587.post-78007656724185298132017-01-18T14:27:21.078+01:002017-01-18T14:27:21.078+01:00i figured out the murderer from the start of the f...i figured out the murderer from the start of the film. the camera obviously pans on her legs, when she is lying on her bed, and they're bruised from her forest trip. i thoht it was too onvious and dismissed her as the killer.

for me, the movie was not really a mystery but a social commentary on internet culture; how everyone thinks their input and condemnations are required when they know crap about others' people actions and lives. the overly politically correct justice warrior who delect in attacking strangers for their behaviour but do the same behind closed doors.

so the mystery was merely a vehicle to transmit this message. it did a pretty good job at it. plus the cinematography was crisp and clean. It's definitely not a fair play whodunnit; in the end, I feel like it was more of a lateral thinking puzzle. I can definitely see how going into it thinking it'll be a fair play whodunnit can diminish the experience, though.

One thing I did especially like was how we got to see the same event from multiple points of view. A pity that the narrative potential was not developed into a solid mystery story... A puzzle involving mass media sounds like an interesting premise!
