I guess the Kamiki Raichi series is basically a baka-mys series, as the ideas there are really out of there at times.Ho-Linghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04673330638260132388noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8031063966272508587.post-59420011327892500292019-06-28T15:22:23.134+02:002019-06-28T15:22:23.134+02:00Hey, new avatar!

I first read it on your review of 狐火の家 and am wondering what else this variety has to offer.Dian Adhantohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12302259612602336657noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8031063966272508587.post-11342807312732190912019-06-28T11:24:47.472+02:002019-06-28T11:24:47.472+02:00Nah, this is more insane, it has to be silly/funny...Nah, this is more insane, it has to be silly/funny too to be a baka-mys.Ho-Linghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04673330638260132388noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8031063966272508587.post-28322152963173859802019-06-27T13:09:16.636+02:002019-06-27T13:09:16.636+02:00Wow, you're not kidding about how fast the fin...Wow, you're not kidding about how fast the final parts of the book are going. Makes the final two days a breeze, though. A similar trick (?) is used by Hoch in his Queen story "Circle of Ink", that also features the same fake-out.

Would you consider this novel a バカミス?Dian Adhantohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12302259612602336657noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8031063966272508587.post-91075646537422653832018-05-01T09:56:02.089+02:002018-05-01T09:56:02.089+02:00I am quite confused. Why ask the question in a post that has absolutely nothing to do with either and where the name wasn't even mentioned once in the comments?

Given the great number of reviews I've written for both series, I doubt I have to explain what I I think of both Hajime and Kousuke...Ho-Linghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04673330638260132388noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8031063966272508587.post-36100986592843991662018-05-01T09:12:34.266+02:002018-05-01T09:12:34.266+02:00do you dislike kindaichi?

As a novel, I think it's better seen as a rare attempt to really mix up the various modes of Ellery in one story that isn't really succesful due to its limited scope in the LOONG first part, but still not without its merits as a Queen mystery novel.Ho-Linghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04673330638260132388noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8031063966272508587.post-6353884685042323072018-04-11T09:52:04.437+02:002018-04-11T09:52:04.437+02:00The only Wrightsville stories I'd really recom...The only Wrightsville stories I'd really recommend are the short stories... Of the novels, I think this one's the best, but again, it's a really weird novel and not at all representative of the Wrightsville novels in general (Double, Double is somewhat similar in concept too, but that's basically an inferior There Was An Old Woman).Ho-Linghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04673330638260132388noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8031063966272508587.post-24646032297201169842018-04-11T08:22:52.345+02:002018-04-11T08:22:52.345+02:00Not an accessible entry in the series is somewhat ...Not an accessible entry in the series is somewhat of an understatement and a title that tends to sharply divide opinion. You either like it or hate it. Like all Wrightsville novels, I hated it.

You should not, like I did, read Cat of Many Tails before Ten Days' Wonder, because it will bloat your expectations of the book.
